Hong Kong, “In Transit” Land !

The first leg of our flight over and we’ve had about 6 hours to kill in Hong Kong airport before we depart to Helsinki.

Up, up and away !

The flight was great and the daylight view from our window seats gave some pretty impressive cloud formations –

With our Hong Kong stopover, Adrienne was very torn – could she manage to get to and from Hong Kong Disneyland in the time ? Unfortunately (๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) it was going to be a bit of a stretch to try to fit it in so that will have to wait for another time.

So the “next best” (?) option she came up with was to “lounge hop” the business class lounges and try a few cocktails !!๐Ÿธ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿน – what could go wrong !

Decisions, decisions – where to start ?

Well as we arrived at the transfer desk security checkpoint, we were mobbed by a gang of screaming girls – who told them we were coming ? ! Turns out it wasn’t us afterall but only some K Pop boy band in front of us ! So as security realised we weren’t part of the screaming mob – not sure what gave it away –ย  we managed to proceed through security to the departures area – and “the Lounges” !

First stop – the Cathay Pacific “Wing” Lounge – nice view over the runway – with a quiet drink for good measure ! All the lounges have a signature cocktail – or two – and Adrienne was up for the challenge – first up, an Asian Mojito !

Then, we decided we needed a good walk so we headed further along the gates to The Qantas Lounge. These lounges are certainly big and we stretched our step count walking from one end to the other. We stopped at the bar and this time there was not only a signature cocktail but a signature dish on offer – so Adrienne’s Chi Chi this time was accompanied with a yummy BBQ Pork !

We were going to earn our next drink as we were headed for the “Pier” – another Cathay Lounge. This was at Gate 65 and quite a walk ! When we finally got there Adrienne decided to use the shower facilities while I indulged, but eventually was too tempted by an Espresso Martini to let another signature cocktail go astray !

We still have a bit of a wait till our flight – what do you think ? More lounges before we go ? Might have to consult my “mystic dragon” to decide ! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Half way there and a lot of fun already – can’t wait to see Simon & Jatta tomorrow !

Cheers till then ! ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿน๐Ÿฅ‚
