We have already started our tour planning for 2019 (keep an eye out for news coming soon!) however we’ve had a fantastic followup to one of the special days on our last tour.
Whilst in Scotland we had such a wonderful experience following up my grandfather’s family in Dalmally – you can read that story here. Well, I’ve received a follow up email from the Dalmally Historical Association as we made the local newspaper ! Here is the email –

Our local paper has been featuring WW1 stories this month and I thought you might be interested to see the one attached. As seems to be traditional at the Oban Times, there are a few inaccuracies in their report but they did give the story half a page in this week’ s issue!
A couple of weeks ago the editor came to the DHA (**) to give us a talk on the history of the paper. Afterwards our secretary just happened to mention your grandfather’s story and how much we had enjoyed meeting you both in August. Next thing we knew one of the reporters contacted me for the details – hope you don’t mind.

I certainly don’t mind ! – it’s fantastic !! Emerson did make the newspapers 100 years apart – almost to the day !
