(A bit late with this one – nearly up to the next !)
Our big tour to the USA was to be a little earlier in the year than normal so we decided to celebrate our anniversary getaway a few weeks earlier as well – especially when a great deal from Luxury Escapes came up !
So tacking on to the June long weekend, we ventured to the Central Coast for a few days at the wonderful Bells at Killcare Boutique Hotel, east of Gosford and right on the edge of the Bouddi National Park.
We made the most of the beautiful winter weather – we took a nice drive around the local suburbs – Macmasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca, Terrigal, Avoca and Wamberal – an area we haven’t spent much time in previously. Otherwise we explored the grounds, tried out the food and drink, took a long walk through the national park and along the coast, tried out one of the cafes overlooking Brisbane Water – and otherwise chilled ! A great spot to spend a few days celebrating !

However, at short notice Luxury Escapes came good with another great deal so we decided to take a couple of days break over our actual anniversary after all – with Chateau Elan, in the Hunter Valley, as our destination.
We are always up for a visit to the Hunter Valley and the weather mostly looked after us again. More walking, eating, drinking, chilling !
We stopped at our usual favourites – Hunter Valley Gardens and the Smelly Cheese Shop – and wandered around part of the housing estates which border the fairways at the Chateau Elan Gold Course.
A very pleasant place for a celebration !
