Having a “Bucket List” seems to be a fairly recent idea, which originates from a 2007 movie I’ve never seen – but I’m sure the concept has been around for much longer !
I can’t say that I have one specifically, however our conquest of the states of the USA has certainly fallen into that category.
It didn’t really start out that way. We were able to get to the stage of our lives where overseas travel became a possibility for us and after our first “overseas adventure” in 2001, – all the way to New Zealand ! – we began our journey.
In 2005 our next “bigger step” was the USA West Coast. Since then, travel has had us “caught in the headlights” ! – but it was more general at first – where else could we go and explore !
So in 2007 we were off to the UK, we had “been” to the US, so lets go somewhere different.
But I probably “blame” Disney ! – having been to Disneyland in 2005, Adrienne’s next dream was Disney World in Florida, so another trip to the USA was just a matter of time – about 12 months in fact !
And perhaps, as the saying goes, the rest is history.
We have had some great overseas trips, but I have decided that our “50 States” adventure needs it’s own limelight on my blog.
It has taken me a long, long time to put together but on the menu there is a separate heading encompassing these tours – “50 States …. in a Country, Far, Far Away”
